Why do the results keep changing?
Unofficial election results shift as we count all the valid ballots that we have collected.
Reasons for results shifting include the time it takes to verify and count:
• Early and Election Day day ballots.
• Mail and absentee ballots.
• Armed services and overseas ballots.
• Write-in candidate ballots.
• Provisional ballots, where we double-check that the voter is eligible.
• Ballots counted by hand by bipartisan election worker teams because they’re crumpled, stained, or got chewed on by your dog!
